Cut and Shuffle
The art of design and the design of art.
Beginning with black and white papers, you will be encouraged to explore simple design alternatives, then create several experimental and inherently random collage compositions with coloured paper. Through a process of cutting, rearranging and cropping these collages, you will isolate design diagrams that can be translated into whatever medium you wish to use. We will consider: compositional elements, contrast and relationship, individual style and interpretation, and personal mark making.
